Need to change my mobo and cuz that i want to upgrade to 8th gen. i5 to i3, should i?

Hi, for compatibility i need to change mi mobo, but the one i need is not on stock for 7th gen, only for 8th. So im thinking about upgrading gen, but i dont have the money to buy a brand new i5 1151v2 only and i3 1151v2. Now i have a i5 7500, 4 core at 3.4 GHz and im evaluating change to an i3 8100, 4 core at 3.6 GHz for budget. Will i be loosing performance? or it will improve?

I use the PC mainly for gaiming maxing fps (have a 1060 6gb), so mostly playing on medium to high, the most demanding is pubg. I also use the pc for my college, simple stuff, excel, pdf, etc.

Will i loose performance? will i still be able to record and stream?

Thank you for taking the time to read :)

According to this, there will be no change in performance: http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-7500-vs-Intel-Core-i3-8100/3648vs3942

For streaming, you'll want at least a Ryzen 5 1600. You'll be able to record with either of the CPUs you listed.

What compatibility issue do you have with the current motherboard?

CPU: Intel i7 6700k  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 | RAM: 2x16GB 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX | GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080ti | PSU: Corsair RM750x (2018) | Case: BeQuiet SilentBase 800 | Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports | SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB + Samsung 840 500GB + Crucial MX500 2TB | Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU + Samsung BX2450

I have as mobo a GA-H270-Gaming 3 and as gpu a 1060 dual oc 6gb from asus. The issue is that for some reason, together sometimes throw complete blackout and after restarting keeps black until it doesnt, sometimes 1 min, sometimes hours. The gpu and the mobo both went to technical service and came back clear (gpu has a flaw on the fan and got replaced), without gpu doesnt happen, and it does with the old and new gpu. So my only conclussion is that they doesnt get along, dont know whay or how, but they doesnt :C

You've already had it tested and found that the motherboard isn't the issue. Replacing the motherboard probably won't help.

It sounds more like it's a power supply issue. What power supply are you using?
It might also help if you provide a full list of parts in your system.

Is that the B1 (80+ Bronze) or W1 (80+ White)?
Either way they're not the best units. Do you have another unit you can use to test with to see if the issue occurs with a different PSU?

Are you using the first or second PCIe x16 slot on the motherboard? Try installing the GPU in to the other slot and seeing if the problem continues.

Can't say for sure whether or not it's the cause of your issue, but I'd rather spend the $60 on a new PSU before spending $250 on a new motherboard and CPU. Especially since the EVGA W1 600W PSU isn't very good and should probably be replaced anyway, coupled with the fact that you've already sent the motherboard off to be tested and it has been confirmed to be working.

What was your old GPU? Were you using a dedicated card or the integrated graphics of the i5 7500?

Is the PC itself (tower) shutting itself down and restarting, or is it just the display that is switching off? If it's just the display going black and not turning back on, it is likely the monitor is dying or loose cable. Does the monitor work correctly on another system or with your old graphics card/integrated graphics on the i5 7500?

It is just the display, actually i can still hear and interact with the system. The monitor works just fine, on other devices has never shown any blackouts and when this happen the monitor shows image of no signal. The tower has to be restarted manually and often turned the PSU off for several minutes.

Sadly here on my 3rd world country, a 550 watts 80+ gold psu cost like 90 - 95 USD and an 850 watts 80+gold modular 100 USD :c,

I would try another psu because your psu is terrible. Some would call it fire hazard. It is okay price for gold psu. Try looking for Seasonic focus plus gold 550w they are usually cheaper and great psus. Or look at psu tier list in psu section of the forum and pick the cheapest one from tier 1-2. If it does not solve the problem you shoudl be able to return it(14 days).
