Is an RX 580 worth it?

Eric06

Hi guys!

I received an offer for an RX 580 8gb for 230$ (CAD). I am looking to upgrade my gpu which is an R7 360. Is this card worth the price?

Thank you for your opinion!

I would be a massive improvement but if you waited for new cards you could get a even better deal

230 is pretty low or it’s common price nowadays, check what model and what it was used for. And is it a 4gb of 8gb? What games do you play?

Im mostly on discord now and you can find me on my profile

It's an 8gb card. I would like to play mainly Starcraft 2 and Battlefront 1.

In this market while we are waiting to see the new generation of cards, it's worth it to jump on.

580 will give you 1080p experience at med/high without problems, like a 1060 but with 8gb vram. Better than a 1060 if you think on gpu+monitor combo (freesync use to be 100-150$ cheaper than any gsync panel)

So for mid budget a rx580 is a really nice choice.

Case: Corsair 760T  |  Psu: Evga  650w p2 | Cpu-Cooler : Noctua Nh-d15 | Cpu : 8600k  | Gpu: Gygabyte 1070 g1 | Ram: 2x8gb Gskill Trident-Z 3000mhz |  Mobo : Aorus GA-Z370 Gaming K3 | Storage : Ocz 120gb sata ssd , sandisk 480gb ssd , wd 1gb hdd | Keyboard : Corsair k95 rgb plat. | Mouse : Razer deathadder elite | Monitor: Dell s2417DG (1440p 165hz gsync) & a crappy hp 24' ips 1080p | Audio: Schiit stack + Akg k712pro + Blue yeti.
