aio for ryzen 2600?

Go to solution Solved by Sa1tama,

I would go with NZXT X52

Im looking for an AIO for my Ryzen 2600(i will be overclocking), and these two caught my eye, which one do you guys think is better?

thermaltake floe riing 240 rgb: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/wXx9TW/thermaltake-floe-riing-rgb-240-tt-premium-edition-423-cfm-liquid-cpu-cooler-cl-w157-pl12sw-a

NZXT x52: https://www.amazon.com/Kraken-Liquid-Cooling-System-RL-KRX52-02/dp/B06XWYY83S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1533844818&sr=8-1&keywords=nzxt+kraken+240

Or do you guys have any other suggestions? Basically im looking for an aio with rgb like the ones on NZXT krakens on the cpu block.

Thanks everyone.

H240x v2 IMO

H220x v2  if you you can't fit the 280mm

https://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/7501/swiftech-h320-x2-prestige-liquid-cpu-cooler-review/index6.html

is worth a look.

The h220x is about .2 c within the x61 which is 280mm rad vs the 220x being a 240mm.

On top of that the H220x is an expandable AIO.. so you can add another rad and gpu to the loop at a later time if you wanted.

By the way, those aren't AIOs, they're CLCs. True AIOs will cost more $200+ range, but will save you more in the long run.

Best & worst cases for your money in 2018 are:

Best Cases overall

I) Fractal Design Meshify C - Airflow and relatively quiet, best all around case

I) Phanteks Enthoo Pro M / Special Edition (white interior) - Airflow & full water cooling support

I) Fractal Define R6 - Silent with decent airflow

I) Be Quiet! DB 900 (Full Tower) - Airflow and silent

I) Fractal Design Meshify C mini (mATX)

I) Corsair 400C - Only use with low end components, no 1080 / TI

I) Phanteks 350X - Only use with low end components, no 1080 / TI

I) Fractal Design Focus G

Cases that may be worth your money

I) Thermaltake G21 - GPU and CPU cooling issues, modest tweaking
I) Silverstone RL06 / Pro - Mustard/Ketchup wires, Shitty cable management, Poor front radiator support, useless psu filter, stupid ssd layout
I) In Win 303

I) Coolermaster H500 no suffix - if 200mm fans are your thing

I) NZXT H700 non "i" version - Needs to come down in price to be worth it

I) Corsair Carbide 100R - Suitable for low end builds

The worst cases - Do Not Buy

I) NZXT S340/Elite, H500, H440 (everything except the H700) Reason: Poor airflow
I) Coolermaster Masterbox 5

Majority of cases on the market

I don't recommend CLCs mainly because of low quality parts; fans, pumps, galvanic corrosion and leaks.

Point of failures:

Pumps - A good percentage of CLCs don't have quality pumps.

Galvanic corrosion - Most CLCs have aluminum radiators, as opposed to copper.

LeaksLike in any water cooling system, there is the risk of leaks. However, just like how the pumps are not well built, there is the risk of leaks. You aren't getting top quality fittings or tubing most likely.

The benefit of CLCs over Air coolers are next to none at this price point. Air has better performance to noise ratio than CLCs. With True AIOs your point of failure is much lower, but that comes with a big price tag.

CLC = Closed loop cooler

I'll be posting a more in depth article on this hopefully soon.
