Hi guys!

I am new to the forum but I am following linustechtips on youtube for quite some time and I decided to give forums a try also :)

I am still somehow using my old pc, which has AMD Athlon II X3 445, 4GB ddr2 memory, amd hd 5570 graphic card and some EPoX mobo. Oh and 500gb hdd, which actually got slower 5 years ago.. :D quite old I know, but believe it or not I am still able to play new games(with quite some modifications) and it generally serves me well :D

But now, finally it is time to buy new one. I actually work now so this time I am paying it myself. I am c# dev by profession and even though I like to play games from time to time, it is far and few in between.. My main focus for new pc is all round good pc that I use for developing in visual studio, watching some movies, youtube, and some old games.
My end config will look like this:

- ASUS PRIME B350M-E
- AMD Ryzen 5 2400G 3.60GHz AM4 BOX + Wraith Stealth
- G.SKILL 16GB Ripjaws V DDR4 3200MHz CL16 KIT F4-3200C16D-16GVKB
- EVGA W1 500W
- SAMSUNG 250GB 970 EVO M.2 PCIe M.2 2280 MZ-V7E250BW

I am from Serbia, and pc like that will cost me 500 euro, only thing I need to add is some case, and looking for some cheap sub 30euro tbh, still havent decided on that.
I will also get AOC Q3279VWF since having 2k monitor is something I wanted for quite some time and for productivity reasons. And this AOC seems like perfect buy since very cheap and very good for 31.5 inch monitor.

So I would really appreciate some thoughts about config I plan to buy and some tips about case would be appreciated also :)

Cheers!
Darko

The build looks fine but I'd recomend a small change, possibly changing out the 2400g with a ryzen 5 1400 and a used gtx 960 4gb (or even a 2gb), that is, if you are comfortable with and able to get a used graphics card, it may cost a bit more but a 960 is far more powerful then an apu and only slightly slower then a 1050ti. (I doubt a r5 2400g will be good enough to run even some older titles at 1440p)

Also, do you need to have 16gb of ram? since ram is expensive and unless your going to need it for c#, it seems like you could better spend that money elsewhere.

As @k.m.p said, you won't really have fun gaming on that machine, unless the games you want to play are more than 10 years old (well Indie games will probably be fine for a long time) and aren't crysis :D

Maybe you should also consider to only buy 8 GB ram now and buy a second stick down the line, since the ram prices should fall in the next while. So only go for the 16GB if you really really need them. I'd also recommend getting a cheep sata ssd for mass storage.

Otherwise Ryzen is good choice.

If you like the environment you could also get a more efficient power supply ._. but that is up to you

Make sure it's fairly fast dual-channel, I used to play heavy games (PUBG + GTAV) on and 8GB single and there were major frame dips until I upgraded to dual channel. Never hit the 8GB ceiling however, even with 16GB.
