Monitior Choice for a gaming/ Content creation rig

Im finally into building my first windows machine for gaming and video/audio production

and need help deciding on whether or not its worth it to upgrade to a 4k monitor or go with a 1440p 16:9 or a 1080p ultrawide,

I will be running a ryzen 7 2700x, 16gb ddr4 3000Mhz ram, a 1080 ti strix, and a gigabyte x470 ultra.

For clarification I edit 1080p video fairly often and have grown accustom to having a pixel for pixel window available on my 5k imac, but I've heard running 4k monitors at less than native resolution on pc games can look pretty terrible and would like to avoid that if the statements have much merit.

If you have any recommended monitors or just advice on the situation it would greatly appreciated

Budget/Country?

4K is fine at 27" with 125% scaling

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?
