monitors 1440p or 2560x1080p monitor for gaming? Reccomendations?

Ebay is having a deal for 15% off of everything right now. And I desperately need a new monitor. I'm currently using a cheap tv as a monitor and it's only 1360x768 (i think) i got it before i had a graphics card. So as the titles says I want to know what other people think would be better for gaming? I have an i7 6700k and a gtx 1060 6gb and plenty of desk space. Any advise or product reccomendations would be much appreciated. Also my budget would have to be sub $500.

Ultrawide/high refresh rate is phenomenal.

 

Besides, a 1060 at 1440 would be pretty meh

Neither of those

 

Either buy a 1080p 144hz free-sync display for gaming which are around $200

 

or a 4k 60hz free-sync IPS preferred display which are $300 for long term use and productivity.
