Ryzen 1700 with 2x8gb ram or 2600x with 2x8gb of ram or 2700x with 1x8gb of ram

Go to solution Solved by AMD Spec,

The cooler included with the 2700 is good until about 3.9 ghz maybe 4 ghz with higher rpm and better case air flow, but u said u got a hyper 212 which is far superior than any included cooler,

About the fan, the board that u wanna buy is beefy enough to go passive, the fan with the 2700 is very good and can be used as intake or exhaust for more air flow, also looks better than the 2700x fan in my opinion.

I would get the 2700 and bring it to 4.1 ghz with ease with a hyper 212 and a good paste, the thermal grizzly pad is a good investment too

If I go for the 2700x I cheap out on my budget, and I don't need the cpu cooler because I am running a 212 Evo and should be able to get an am4 bracket for it somewhere.

Please help me out, I really don't know what to get.

Mobo: asrock fm2a78 (The motherboard that I'll buy for ryzen will be the msi x470 gaming plus)

Psu: bequiet 400w bronze that I know is fine because I can Overclock my current x4 870k to 4.4 at 1.4v stable, and that has a 95w tdp at stock settings

What about a 2700 non X with 2x8?

Then oc it to match 2700x

Plz specify your mobo and psu

Idk the prices in your area too

Price for both 1700 and 2600x is 200 euro and for the 2700 I'll have to pay around 270 euro and for the 2700x I'll have to pay about 320 euro

The thing is that the X series performs about as good as the overclocked standard series.

Price value the non X series is thus better.

Doesn't the x series come with a slightly better fan on the heats sink that I can put above my vrms and doesn't it come with xmp2 where you can Overclock without losing your warranty?

Mx4 is great if u have it already

Next time u decide to buy some paste for a cleanup i highly sugggest the thermal pad

Cheers

What do you think of this upgrade set, only problem is that my budget is a bit too low to get 2x8 gb of ram with the 2700 and if I get 1x8 It will run in single channel wich isn't ideal unless I upgrade it later, and if I choose to do 2x4 it will take 2 ram slots for only 8gb meaning if I want to upgrade I would have to use all my 4 ram slots for only 16 gb

So I am not quite sure if it's Ideal but it will get the job done, oh and I'm on my phone because I'm on vacation now.

The build is ok but i would try hard to get  higher speed ram, 2x4 is good but get mhz 3000 + since u get a noticeable boost with ryzens @ high speed rams

Although the 8 Gb thing is abit on the  low side  for multitasking  and gaming, obut if u could stretch the budget abit this ram is of a good value @ 3000mhz

Maybe I should get 3200mhz, because 3000 gets underclocked to 2933 right?
