So lets get straight into the question,

will i5 8400 and GTX 1060 6GB be fine and also enough for gaming and multimedia productivity

Because beside gaming, i m also planning to learn about video editing skills. So I may do lots of training in video editing.

If not can you suggest me some more good CPU + GPU Combo ?

I have at least $900-$1300 budget for building the PC.

Looking forward for the responses. Thank you and have a good day^^

with this setup, you have a lot of room to expand, and you won't bottleneck at all. The 8400 can handle a lot of horsepower.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

wow, my predictions of people asking if an i5 8400/gtx 1060 setup would be a bottleneck mess are accurate

What games? Chances are high that it'll be fine.

Honestly at this point, you might as well just leave it as "pair a midrange CPU with a mid range GPU and you'll be mostly fine".

i5 8400 and gtx 1060 is a budget-friendly-gaming-high-at-1080p I think wkwk. Plus I can make my PC becomes RGBeautiful with the left amount of my budget.

Well for games, I think I ll play the e-sports kind of game. Such as dota2, csgo, gta V, PUBG, fortnite, and so on.

Hi @DrumXKPCGAMER,

If you are going to be doing video editing I highly suggest that you definitely go for the 6GB version of the 1060, the difference is going to be noticeable for rendering and realtime effects/transitions. If you are using CUDA applications all the extra VRAM that you can afford will come handy :)

Enjoy your new computer!

Fortnight could run on a 1050. I saw a friend who used some sort of old crap AMD APU in a leafblower laptop that was able to get 20-30 FPS.

If you're going hi-res, I would definitely recommend the 1060 for GTAV.

i don't play fortnight so i insist on calling it fortnight.

hmm okay okay. thanks for the references mate.
