Dual 4K Monitors. What video cards should I get?

I'm planning on building a system and I wanted to get 2x 4K monitors to replace my 1920x1200 monitors. I was thinking of a  single 1080TI to drive them both but didn't know if that was adequate if wanted to game on them as well. Or should I get 2 in SLI? Or don't use SLI and have each card drive each monitor individually?

Well you don't actually plan on playing the game on both at the same time do you? You would still only be playing on one 4k monitor.

A single GTX 1080 Ti is fine for playing games on one of those monitors. Playing games on both won't look pretty since you'll have a bezel down the middle.

The only one I can recommend is Dell's P2715Q. It's reasonably cheap for the quality and features you get.

EDIT: If you can find it on sale, I'd pick Dell's U2718Q over the P2715Q.

Even a GT1030 will be able to drive two 4K monitors, as long as the output ports support 4K60 panels (most of them do ;) ). Speaking of gaming on such a configuration, a 1080Ti is right on the spot to play most of the games available at 4k60 with high to ultra settings, and it wouldn't definitely be enough to drive 2x4K panels.

Exact. Bezel in the middle. Unless you go for thin bezel models (like LG 27UD69 or UD88) it's gonna be painful. Also, as I said, 2x4K is too much for a single 1080TI and honestly I wouldn't suggest to anyone to buy 2x1080Ti. It's not the best solution, especially now that the new GPUs are on the way very soon.

Speaking of monitors, the P2715Q isn't that great, not being a UP series monitor, and also being EOL. I'd suggest 2x LG27UD88 or 27UK600/650/850, with the 2nd and 3rd if you want HDR.

Thanks for the info. I was planning to game on just one monitor while the other one had other stuff on it. I was thinking of initially getting a pair of the Dell U2718Q ($570). I looked at the UP2718Q ($1550). The only difference I could see between the two is HDR. Is HDR worth the $1k price difference? I don't play a lot of FPS games, most of the stuff I like playing are RPG, RTS, and dungeon crawlers, like Final Fantasy genre, WoW, Diablo 3, SC2, etc.
