Hello.

I'm planning to build a pc, but since I'm on a tight non-flexible budget, I don't want to pay a ton of money on a power supply. The Corsair VS650 is the least expensive option in where I live and as somebody who doesn't care about modular supplies (I will be using cablemod extension cables) nor do I care about efficiency/power consumption I want to know truster brand budget supply can damage my components in any way shape or form. I also don't really mind durability since it has a three-year warranty and since its a cheap supply I won't mind replacing it after 3 years.

Thank you and have a good day.:)

You would be better off with getting something like a CXM series in general terms but what are your system specs we can better determine what unit you will need within your system.

The PSU doesn't make sense. If you need the 650W, you can afford a better PSU. If you can't, you don't need anywhere near 650W.

Also, instead of spending money on extension cables on a low end build, spend it to make the build less crappy

Orange label or gray label?

What is in your build that makes you think you need 650W?  1080 Ti?  Vega 64?

Sorry for misleading. I do have a non-flexible Budget but it's not a low budget build. I just figured that spending less on a supply since Its 50$ and I don't have cx series in my area, so my next option is double the price. But I checked in Coolermaster's calculator and it recommend a 650w for my build

CPU: ryzen 5 2600

MOBO: Asus Prime X470-PRO

RAM: HyperX Predator 2x8GB DDR4 3000Mhz

GPU: Asus GTX 1070 DUAL 8GB

The power draw will be under 300W, assuming you'll overclock. You're getting a 1070 and a Ryzen 6 core, you can afford a decent PSU. Formula Gold 450W, Pure Power 10 400W or Vengeance 400W. Best to worst.

Do you have a link to the store? Among those, the Focus is easily the best.

That stuff is around 250W +/- 50W Power Consumption.

So you'll be fine with even a good quality 400W PSU.

And that is what you should look at: Awesome 400-500W PSU like Bitfenix Formula.

That might even cost the same but is just way way better.

CXm would still be better than a VS...

Thank you all for the replies.

Unfortunately, I am unable to find a Bitfenix formula in my area.

Although I have the Cooler Master MWE series in my area, so should I get it, or should I just stick with the focus?

MWE Bronze or gold? If bronze then it's shit, if gold then it's ok... If it's a bit cheaper than the FOCUS get it the MWE, otherwise just get the FOCUS...

Unfortionately, the Cooler Master MWE (Bronze) makes little sense and isn't great.

MWE Gold is OK if it can be gotten for the Price of other 80plus Bronze units.

I assume Cougar isn't available either? If they are available, is the GX-F series available?
