How long until you can get a 2 TB SSD for < $100?

BattleToads

I feel that basic SATA SSD storage is still too expensive. I am still gaming and streaming off a 5400 RPM HDD and would like an upgrade, but it's more worthwhile to get a large capacity HDD for dirt cheap, than a 240 GB SSD that would be fast but not very useful in terms of storage. Yes I am aware of using both drives and this will likely be my solution, but it seems like I'd rather have my games on the SSD as it's my main use for my PC. Also, is there any particular reason that SATA SSDs are still so expensive? I realize they are much cheaper then before, but I feel like they should be much more affordable.

No clue, https://pcpartpicker.com/products/internal-hard-drive/#X=0,13242&S=400000,15360000&t=0 https://pcpartpicker.com/products/internal-hard-drive/#X=0,25265&S=1000000,15360000&t=0 but this is promising, as 500gb ssds were recently over $150 and 1tb ssds have always been over $300, but now a 1tb ssd is as much as a decent 4-12tb hdd.  Might be 5 years, and it also might be 20 if we dont find a better way to store a lot of data in a small place (see m.2) for cheap

I might not know what I'm talking about but I'm gonna say it anyways

There has been a shortage of NAND flash for the past couple of years. Without that shortage, SSD prices would have fallen considerably. But now the prices are starting to drop again, and that should continue.
