Ping spikes immediately after connecting to a MM server in CSGO

So I've been having this issue from time to time in CSGO Matchmaking - where after I connect my ping immediately spikes to an unplayable 700+. Despite being able to hear the voice chat clearly nor my internet is on any load.

And when I tried reconnecting using a VPN it actually gave me an understandable latency that is a lot less than connecting directly. The issue only occurs with some servers. 

 

Normally I'd get 5-10ms ping on Dubai servers, and 30-50ms on India's. I've recently reinstalled the game and constantly validate the file. Also checked the firewall settings but I still can't figure it out...Help?
