what to do with my old pc?

so i've got my old pc sitting here, and i haven't used it since i built my current pc.

my old pc is a HP server, specifically a ProLiant ML350 G6.

the specs:

2x Xeon L5630 (8 core/16 thread total)

10GB ECC DDR3 (can upgrade that to much more if i shop around for some cheap used ram, it has 18 ram slots)

2x 460W PSU's (can use for redundancy, or use both for 920W total)

i have a few GPU's spare that i could put in it, namely an RX560 and GTX 1050.

that's basically it. i don't know what to do with it. and i don't want it to just lay around because it's very big and heavy...

i've considered using it as a file server but it's way overkill for that and uses way too much power.

i can't sell it, because i've modded it. it has a big hole in the side panel to fit a hyper 212 evo... mounted with zip-ties... and i've completely redone the cooling to make it quieter.

and it has a really stupid problem: i always had a temperature monitor app open on a secondary display because it would think it's overheating if for example i was playing Overwatch for a long time on a hot day. and i'll explain thinking it overheats: basically it has a broken temperature sensor. so it thinks a harddrive that's ice cold to the touch is 60 degrees celsius. so it very easily thinks it's way too hot and turns off even though nothing is going on. i can deal with it but it makes it totally worthless.

any suggestions about what i could do with it?

Well, I would say, there's a buyer for everything.

But if you're not going to sell it, I would just use it to offload work from your new rig to it.

Sell it, plenty of people will buy it as they can find a use for it.

i don't want to.

look that overheating problem is quite bad. i had to point a fan at the raid controller that holds all the drive's so it would get the faulty sensor to behave.... i don't see why anyone would want to have it.

Because something is better than nothing,

besides, you can deal with it, why wouldn't somebody else aswell?

you have a point. but still selling it isn't an option. i paid €75 for the chassis with the psu's, a quad core xeon that was quite slow, and 6gb of ram.

i paid €50 for the L5630's and i think €25 for the 10gb of ram, which is a different type so i had to take out the 6gb that was in it.

it really isn't worth selling at all, because it was in pretty good condition (apart from the broken temp sensor which the seller didn't tell me about >:() when i got it seeing as the front bezel is missing...  now that i've modded it it's really not worth anything.

it's just not worth it to me to even bother to sell it. if i really can't find a good use for it i'll give it to a friend who said he might want it. it'll be an upgrade over his current pc anyway...

nah if i'm gonna give it away i'm gonna give it to a friend of mine. besides sending around something that heavy isn't worth it.

honestly you'd be better off looking for a similar machine.... old server stuff in this country can be really cheap if you wait a while for something good to pop up.

Servers for game, like Serious Sam server, Minecraft Server, etc. I don't know maybe TeamSpeak server too.

To be honest I'd sell the PC if I were you, but selling isn't an option apparently.
