Hello. I am working on a build for my friend, and previous to today I had thought that all 2nd gen AMD Ryzen chips may not be compatible with older BIOS updates on certain motherboards. In fact, I had to order a boot kit from AMD to get my own rig working. However, upon researching the Ryzen 3 2200g and Ryzen 5 2400g, I noticed that Gigabyte shows that the Raven Ridge APU processors have been compatible since the first bios version of their b350 mobos. Is it true that an update will not be needed for the 2200g and 2400g? I have seen across the internet people saying that they will need an updated motherboard for their 2200g. Here is a link for the Gigabyte example. https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-AB350M-DS3H-rev-1x#support-cpu

If possible I'm trying to avoid going through the process of ordering a boot kit again. The main motherboards I was looking at are: Gigabyte GA-AB350m-gaming 3, MSI B350M GAMING PRO, and ASRock AB350M Pro 4. Any advice is helpful. Here is the current build. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CGQvq4

To avoid ordering a bootkit alltogether. Order a B450 board instead. They are very similar to B350 or identical, but they have all the BIOSes for the newest chips. (Untill Ryzen 3000 APUs and CPUs hit the market)
