My mom needs a new laptop, what should I buy?

Hi,

my mom's old laptop doesn't really work properly so she needs a new one so I was tasked with finding the right laptop but I don't know much about what specs and stuff I should look for in a laptop so I would appreciate some help.

It will be used mostly for browsing the internet and watching youtube and netflix and such but it will also need to handle some light gaming (e.g. League of Legends, lightly modded Minecraft).

What laptop should I buy/what specs should I look for? The buget is around 700 USD but it's not a hard budget.

It's a good laptop, but i think it is a bit overkill. Anyways it will last her quite a long time.

Or a nice Ryzen alternative, Acer Aspire 3, AMD Ryzen 5 2500U, 8GB DDR4, 256GB SSD

It doesnt have an ssd, so if @35k1l goes for it he needs to replace the harddrive for an ssd.

 

Meanwhile the @Zagna variant has an ssd and has an about 2x faster gpu, which is good for the light gaming aspect.
