A 750W PSU will do.

EVGA Supernova 750 is good.

Or from Corsair, RM750.

Personaly I recomend coarsar but get whatever is cheaper / has the features/astetic you like

I would not recommend a second 1080 Ti. SLI is pretty much obsolete and it grants stutters in games and many games don't utilize the second GPU. Just don't bother with it. What resolution and refresh rate are you playing at anyways?

For two 1080 Tis I would recommend an 850W PSU and a single a 550W would do. The Corsair AXi is overpriced though, don't bother with it. An RMx or RMi would do fine.

if youre pushing hardcore go Corsair HX

I had a RM fail under 24/7 operation in spec (830/850W)

The RM of old is vastly different from the newer RMx and RMi.

What are the specific differences?

Should i have bought a RMx/RMi instead of my HX? Talking about the 1000W units

But in another thread you said it ran like that for seven years.

Warranty terms are often based off of 24/7 operation.  After that, all bets are off.

yes it ran a long time. But cool would be someting to sustain this for longer than the warranty. and i know this will be expensive

Then you want a server PSU.  Consumer grade PSUs just aren't built to last in general.

Are there server PSUs who are compatible with a normal ATX mobo and stuff?

99% of server PSUs have the same connectors as a desktop ATX PSU.

Where the rub is finding one that fits inside an ATX case.  They don't tend to use the same form factor unless you find a 4U power supply.

Be forewarned:  They are HELLA loud.  That's part of the reason they last so long.  The fan spins at 100% RPM 100% of the time and use a smaller diameter fan or fans in a push:pull configuration.

There's not many things louder in this world than a server PSU.

Thanks man! Ill look for a 4U then for my folding rig. Noise is not important becasue it will be in a speare room

The most specific one I can think of is that the entire PSU shares nothing with the old one.
