Samsung 34" QHD Freesync & GV100s

Flakit

Love the Video Linus on the 3x3 Monster rig, however GV100 Video cards i believe only work with GSync capable Monitors.  Samsung is FreeSync as you mentioned and requires AMD Video cards to take advantage of higher frame rates.  Maybe you should revisit that experiment utilizing GSync Monitors with the GV100 cards...Just Saying...

Whatever "sync" you run is really only functional when you're pushing more than 60fps. I don't remember them noting FPS but Linus said that Fortnite wasn't very playable. Fortnite isn't crazy demanding so im betting most of the games didn't really need any "sync" anyway. They were pushing 10 times the resolution vs 1080p remember. Really, more than that since they were all ultrawides.

Also they were LG monitors...

Ryzen 7 2700X , Asus Prime X570-Pro, Bykski CPU Block, AMD Vega 56, Barrow GPU block, g.Skill Ripjaws V 32GB PC2800, Dual EKWB SE360 Radiators, Corsair RM750x PSU. All in a Lian-Li PC011 Dynamic XL case.

Nope. Frame sync has nothing to do with what GPU can be used on a display, I run a 75Hz FreeSync display on a GTX 780 and have no problems.

As long as a card can push the higher framerate without problem, frame sync goes right out the window. Take a GTX 1080Ti with a FreeSync monitor and a G-Sync monitor, both running at 144Hz. The 1080Ti has no problem pushing 144Hz, so frame sync wouldn't make a difference in performance.

Yep agree, I should have been more clear.  FreeSync works only with AMD cards and GSync with Nvidia.  It only matters when your drivering a 10 or 12k display system and are eeking out every bit of performance.  Like Linus using (3) GV100's driving 3x3 34" QHD LG monitors.  He should used ASUS GSync equivalent monitors.
