Noice canceling headphones regularly or gaming headphones

So I am in the market for headset from 70-140 dollars. I used to have. Bose Quiet Comfort 15 which I loved, until they broke out of no where. I really think it will be hard to go back to nom-noise canceling headphones. I can get new ones for 130 with their defective replacement program, or go with a hyperx Cloud 1,2, or Alpha. I listen to music a lot, but play a lot of competitive video games like rainbow six siege. What should I do?

My personal opinion.

 

Get some Sony noice cancelling headphones, and don’t go near gaming headphones, they are trash for music. But it depends how much into music you are, personally I’m a bit of a audiophile got hd 660s for home and wh1000xm2 and tbh the wh1000xm2 sound absolutely fine for gaming, and you can just use some Razer software or something for virtual surround.

In terms of noise cancellation,Bose is pretty much unparalleled,there sound quality is okayish.I like the MDR 7506,but no other company does noise cancellation quite like Bose.

The new Sony wh1000xm2 supposedly beat the new sennheiser stuff(atleast almost all the reviewers say so), i havent used any sennheisers, but the sony wh1000mx2 is actually magic, it works so well.

The only problem is they're more than 2x the OP's budget But I have heard awesome things about them.

 

Stay with the QC15. If you need a good mic... well, you know where to find us  - but don't buy a gaming headset ... ever.
