Canada's first eSports arena to open in Richmond BC!

MrrMoose

Esports is a up and coming industry in Canada, lots of professional and amateur teams are popping up all over the country. This week as sites like Engadget and Richmand News have reported,

<< Myesports Ventues has announced that it's opening The Gaming Stadium, billed as Canada's first eSports stadium, in Vancouver (specifically Richmond) sometime in 2019. >>

As the article suggests it's interesting that one is being opened in western Canada over eastern Canada despite there being a bigger interest in places like Toronto or Montreal.

The location is also not going to be the biggest Engadget is reporting that it will have <<room for 250 fans, 40 gaming stations and broadcasters>> Who knows if this will be a issue as gaming grows in popularity.

Engadget is reporting that this arena will be a community driven location with << competitions at "all skill levels" >>.

It's going to be interesting to see how this location affects the local gaming scene and the national one too!

When you live in Richmond and even you haven't heard of this yet...

That's a rather interesting place to have it... rather small. But hey, it's next to the Canada Line station so...

Might be popular due to the station being right next to it.

That and there are actually a bunch of gamer and internet cafes along No.3 Road, a couple hundred meters down as well.

EDIT: The lot is alright I suppose. It's just not going to be a large stadium that's for sure. It's roughly the perfect size for a concert... excluding parking and all the other stuff that goes with one.
