What res and refresh rate (and what montior)

I want to use this pc at more than 1080p 60fps meaning either more resolution or refresh rate. 

What should I do and what *CHEAP* montior would be good. I'm aiming under 175 really or under 150 would be very nice too.

Agreed.  If you can find a 1080p @144hz monitor for under $200 then that would be great.  Keep an eye out for monitor sales, especially around holidays.

The msi Magix is a great deal if you'd be willing to save up a little bit longer.  Its a lightly curved display and it looks fantastic.
