S340 elite fans are quite loud

DanSlice

My S340 elite fans are definitely not like a jet engine but are very audible even at idle, I have 2 Coolermaster fans in the front and I can't hear them at all. is there any way of making them quieter without replacing them. (bios and cam didn't work)

If you are able to slip in some rubber between the fan frames, that could dampen some noise if vibrations is the culprit.

If the actually fan itself is the one making noise, make sure they're running in PWM and hopefully they'll go quieter at idle to low loads.

What rpm are you running the fans at? Have you tried lowering the speeds?

i wasn't able to change anything through software, so i don't know what speed they're running at. My motherboard is the AB350 Gaming (rev 1 I think w the Ryzen socket),

There are fan settings available in the bios. Make sure the headers are set to DC / Voltage mode for 3pin fans like FN V2's included with your case.

Smart Fan 5 is what's used to control fan settings. Go to Classic mode and it should be under the M.I.T. section.

thank you, there was a silent option for the fans in smart fan 5 that I turned on for my system fans and I'm gonna see how that does for the noise. just one more question if I put my CPU fan to silent will it affect performance?

Lowering fan speeds can raise temps but it won't affect performance as long as temps aren't so high that it's throttling.
