Go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\System Settings, then for the power button, select "Turn off the display"

If you use the power button for some other feature, you can use the sleep button instead if you have one. Otherwise your options are:

  • Set closing the laptop to "Do Nothing" and just close the laptop.
  • Lock the computer, it'll turn the display off after a few seconds if you don't do anything
  • Set the time to power off the display to 1 minute (though this requires waiting a minute)
  • Find a third party app that'll do it.
