I did not sign up for floatplane using the forum and I'm wondering if there is a way to link them.

When I was floatplane, it was automatically linked................ no clue how I did it though

Either it was when Floatplane hadn't moved out of the forum.

Or you had selected your forum account as login credential on the floatplane website.
