It is time for me to upgrade my GPU. I am going to buy a "1080", but not sure what brand to pick.. I am thinking either the "ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 ROG Strix Gaming" or the "EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 SC Gaming", because they are on discount right now (670 USD). The alternatives right now is around 790 - 830 USD.. I have heard that the service on ASUS is terrible, and the EVGA is fantastic.

Questions:
Should i wait for the new series, and maybe the price will go down? or should i just buy now?
If i buy now, what GPU is recommended?

Thanks :)

What do you have right now?

Do you NEED a new GPU or WANT a new GPU.

If you NEED one.

Id say just buy it, That is if you have no card right now.

If you WANT one.

I say wait, Dont buy a New 11 Card, but im sure the prices might go down on the 1080s etc.

Also should list ur current computer specs, To tell what is best for you.

The next generation of graphics cards are rumored to come out in August of this year, but this isn't a simple answer question, this is an opinion based question, and all replies will mostly be half and half. It just depends on what you want if you can wait then sure! but if you cant then go ahead and do it. and also, the 1080 is a good card to get, as it will be "relevant" and still a high end card even if the next generation is out. btw the prices probably wont go down due to cryptocurrency mining.  so dont expect it to be worth the wait.

Asus ROG Strix cards are the Gods of graphics cards. You do have your Aorus 1080s and Zotac Amp Edition 1080s but generally Asus ROG Strix stuff is generally the strongest.

Buy now, why not. It's not like the prices of the 10 series cards are going to plummet as soon as the 11 series hits the shelves.

ASUS has incredibly responsive support and generous warranties, as well as inexpensive repair fees for out of warranty products. I just had my z97 motherboard serviced, and while there was a bit of a hiccup with their stock, they have been really patient and helpful to getting working hardware back in my hands.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.
