here is my new computer, it's my first build and I did something stupid. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FKT44q

I immediately enabled the XMP in the bios. Apparently Asus changed a lot more settings than it was supposed to or something.

I went back to the bios menu and tried disabling it and still got a crash. So I turned XMP back on in the computer boots to Windows but things are not running efficiently. I feel like the 5820k with a GTX 1080 Should Be Getting way more than 30 FPS on average in Deus Ex mankind divided in high settings. so I checked CPU-Z and the core voltage looks a little low and the bus speed looks a little too high based on various overclocking videos I've seen on YouTube.

Can someone experienced with overclocking please explain to me with proper instructions on every single edit I should apply in Asus X99a II bios settings?

I guess I simply got a bad CPU… One so bad that I'm actually having to under clock it in order to load Windows stable!

I feel a little better now that I have the bus speed around 100 MHz like it's supposed to be I think based on what I've heard from various sources on YouTube.

I still don't think my 5820k is functioning as advertised. Maybe if I understood every little detail about overclocking I could somehow get a better result out of it but I'm not so sure. Maybe it's just a bad egg and there is nothing anyone can do no matter how skilled they may be. Could just be the lottery and in this case I'm willing to bet it's one of the worst 5820k
