Acer Nitro 5 Having Problem Booting Minecraft

Although my Acer Nitro 5 laptop with a 1050ti can run overwatch and destiny 2 with no problems whatsoever, when booting into the main menu for minecraft, the fan jumps into overdrive and the program becomes completely non-responsive. My desktop with a 1060 has no problem running it and my older laptop with intel hd 3000 integrated graphics can get into the actual game while the Acer Nitro 5 gets stuck at the main menu. I looked around a bit and saw that it might be the program not discerning between the cpu integrated graphics and the 1050ti but I've got no idea how to change it. Can anyone help me?
