as a heavy fella myself i know your struggle. as a child i went through a couple of chairs also. right now i cant vouch for any chair since im not 100% happy with mine either but i can tell you what to look for.

1. non-plastic foot. make sure the the base/cross is solid aluminium or steel or something non-plastic

2. make sure you can change the gas spring. obviously the first thing giving up is usually the gas spring and most chairs allow for changing it pretty easily (i just changed mine) and the good thing at least is that they are normed so they mostly it and are easily found.

3. no mesh- i thought id be slick and get a full mesh chair for less sweating in the sommer times (which is true and works) but they its mounted is basicaly like a hammock and therefore it sags over time.

4. be prepaired to spend some money the best chairs ive found are usually the one i encounter in the offices where i work and they dont even list a weight rating but are obviously made to last decades and you can really feel the build quality.

5. no fancy design - its like with pc cases. "gamery" looking cases may look "interesting" or even "cool" to some but then you buy it and its all plastic stickers. you basically want the lian li of chairs, basic design but all steel and soli build quality.

"You know it'll clock down as soon as it hits 40°C, right?" - "Yeah ... but it doesnt hit 40°C ... ever  😄"

GPU: MSI GTX1080 Ti Aero @ 2 GHz (watercooled) CPU: Ryzen 5600X (watercooled) RAM: 32GB 3600Mhz Corsair LPX MB: Gigabyte B550i PSU: Corsair SF750 Case: Hyte Revolt 3

Find yourself a used Steelcase Leap. I bought mine used for about $200 about 4-5 years ago and it's still mechanically perfect for my fatass. Mind you, my Leap is produced in 2001 and this 17 year old chair is still leaps and bounds better than any of those new $300 gaming chairs out there. Oh, these things also cost about $1000 new, but there are enough out there so there are always offices getting rid of them for a fraction of the price.
