i7 8700k vs ryzen 7 2700x

Hi, so I gonna build a system for gaming/editing/livestreaming (mostly the first two) and I can't decide between these two cpu's, would love some advices, btw the edit and render consists of 2 hours max. of content in HD and a smidge of photoshop work too

EDIT: My main concern is the rendering speeds, cause in the end both provide a good gaming experiences (If I'm correct)

8700k will be hands down better for gaming. They will be roughly equal at the other 2 tasks. What GPU and monitor will you use?

I'm going with a gtx 1080, the monitor will have to come later for now I'll use a shitty one that I have

Do you plan for higher pixel count or higher refresh? If you don't need higher refresh then you probably don't need the 8700k.

I do in the future when I'm able to get the monitor

Then I'd say get the 8700k. Just know that the Intel solution (CPU+MB) is more expensive. Do you plan on overclocking? If not you can get a non K 8700 and non overclocking MB and save a few $$$

Nah m8, ya boy is gonna overclock that shit

From what I have seen and read the 2700X will be better for streaming out of the box. The 8700K can be made to work better than it would natively with some tweaks. As far as rendering it is gonna depend on what software you're using and which codec. Hardware Canucks switched back to Intel to take advantage of its QSV. You will get better PCIe options with the 2700X if you ever elect to go with a capture card.

So really it's gonna be up to you because there isn't any clear cut winner. The rumored 8 core i7 that is expected to be around $450 dollars might make this conversation moot, but you'd have to wait to find out.

Sadly I can't wait for it since I'm getting burned everyday for not having the right hadrware for my tasks, and I edit with premiere pro, and since they're both good reliable choices I might go with intel just cause I know it better and amd is more of uncharted territory for me

I think that's a safe bet. Here is some useful info from HarwareCanucks. He is using different CPUs, but I think it's more the architecture that is relevant. I could be wrong, however, and the 2700X may not suffer from the same drops as the 1700X while editing timelines in Premiere.
