IBM 300GL Sleeper PC

Are there any plans to change the colour of the Blu Ray drive? I feel like spraying it an off-white, crappy beige colour would really complete the look

I am working on it, the white front panel that came with the cd unit in this pc is from LG as well and from the outside it looks the same. The problem is on the other side, where the plastic molt is a bit different, I will try to modify it in order to fit but its not easy.

The other way to go is to spray paint it with a proper beige color, but then I don't know hot to get those old fashioned labels and writings on it.

Thanks man!

Took a photo of the modded IBM together with my keyboard and an old Dell Ultrasharp monitor. I think they look nice together even if the IBM case and the monitor are 15 years apart.

(Took the wallpaper online, couldn't find the creator/source of it)

Things left to do:
- replace/paint the blu-ray drive front cover
- find cheap custom sleeved PSU cables (Any suggestions?)

This is awesome, have you considered getting a Model M to complete the look?

I would like that, but model Ms are crazy expensive atm

Linus did a episode on them, you can find some replicas for a good price, but i'd agree if you want a real one its not worth it lol

Hi, you need to carefully unlock the plastic latches that hold the plastic front panel to the metal frame. In the picture below I marked where they are. You can carefully use a screwdriver but be super careful as old plastic is a bit stiffer and prone to breaking. Hope this can help.
