Corsair releases H100i Pro

Corsair has released the new H100i PRO CPU cooler, expanding their PRO lineup of CLCs to include a 240MM variant.

 

TH's verdict : "Corsair's new H100i Pro proves a well-designed 240mm AIO can perform like a larger, pricier 360mm model, while costing a whole lot less."

 

 

Personally, I think it looks like a great replacement for the venerable H100i V2 with the awesome quiet pump and fans of the H115i PRO and H150i PRO. As an owner of an H115i PRO I can say from experience that it's a great CPU cooler and the 240mm variant looks like a great option to cool a Ryzen 7 or i5-8600K

Is it all aluminium or all copper? If its a combination of the 2...that's a deal breaker.

And the pump, does it also stop/go into silent mode?

Last time I checked, this was always the main origin of noise for water coolers...

Probably, 'cause that's barely a stress-test for a CPU like that

Basically all AIOs use mixed metals. The pump dies long before it's a problem

At $120 it isn't much more than the H100i v2 is and you don't have to immediately replace the fans

Well, at this point, even the Corsair ML240R is better than the Hyper 212 EVO I've got.

That in itself is an issue as well (though my last AIO blow its "fill" port-not sure why) .

The block on that thing is uglier than the H100i v2..... Why? Needs to be Batman colors.. black or very dark grey.

Trust me, it looks better on a board - only looks really good on black/white boards

99% of AIO's have mixed metals.

And it's not an issue because of the liquid that is running inside.

 

Though I'm much more interested in DeepCool Castle 280 RGB.

Except the Intel demo was drawing ~1000W and used an external water cooler to keep it under control.

So.....it's an H100i with different plastic and faster/louder fans? 

This is practically a "move along, nothing to see here" release. Fix your damn pumps so they stop dying/rattling at such a high rate.

It's a 240 that performs like some 360s

because of the fans.

I'd like to see someone slap these fans on the regular old H100i v2 and see what happens, if the performance is similar or did they actually change something.
