So I currently have 3 24" 1080p monitors on a multi-monitor stand. I'd like to upgrade my center monitor to an ultrawide as I really like the larger aspect ratio of the ultrawides. My issue is I'm not sure which to get, I'd like it to line up with my existing monitors but I don't want to spend too much. I'm currently look at the LG 25UM58 as I only need 1080p and it seems like a decent size, however I have heard that 1080p ultrawides aren't very good, so I came here to the experts. Any advice is appreciated!

That seems like a dumb thing to say. Unless

1) They have tested a lot of those monitors and they are awful in every way (color, light bleed etc), or

2) They have a workflow and that specific setup doesn't suit them, or

3) They don't know what they are talking about

I think most people who do ultrawide are enthusiasts to the point of super powerful GPUs and super high resolutions. So 1080p ultrawides aren't as common as higher resolution ultrawide displays.

Unless you have (one or more) super beefy GPU(s), 1080p ultrawide should do fine.

Please edit your post to have all of your comments in one post, not three. This can be seen as post farming and isn't allowed.

OP - If your GPU has at least 3 display outputs, it'll work no problem. Extra monitors take close to no resources to run.

A bit of everything really, gaming, productivity, general use, occasional video editing. My GPU is more than powerful enough, I just want to make sure I'm getting a decent ultrawide. Are the measurements the same as a standard 16:9 or are they different? Like is a 29" 16:9 monitor the same height as a 29" ultrawide? If not what size will I need to match 24" 16:9 monitors?
