Phanteks Ethoo Evolv Shift (X) - any solid reviews?

B-dubya

Have there been any solid in depth reviews of these cases? I love the small footprint, and don't mind the height at all. The three videos I've seen have only been building in the case, and no technical information.

My concern is thermals. I plan on going with an 8700k, and wouldn't mind a overclock to 5.0ghz, (but will be fine on stock honestly). And I will be going with either a gtx 1080 (ti?)  depending on how prices drop... or how crazy the 1180 will be when they come out..

I'll most likely have to go with the shift X , which should hopefully allow me to properly cool it. But I would love to see some real world tests.

I've also read there may be an issue with the PCI riser / cable now allowing full PCI-E 16x 3.0 connection.

Does anyone have personal experience with this case? Or know of a solid review I can look into?

Thanks!

I've used the non X twice now. Remarkable case.

I was able to get a 7700K to 5300mhz with the cheapest corsair AIO you can buy.

Whats stopping you from using the non X version? The SFF PSU?

Nothing is stopping me from using the non-X version honestly. I figured I would need the X in order to go with a 240mm rad and allow for extra air flow from the extra fan support.

I plan to use a SFF PSU.

Bitwit and Dmitri also used the regular shift but it should be fairly similar

Thank you, I watched all previously but the kitguru. It was pretty good, I'm glad he didn't just talk about the looks and mentioned some of the troubles he faced. Dmitri mentioned stay tuned for part 2 where he will test, but seeing how long it's been...I don't think that's happening!

When it gets towards the time to build, I really enjoy the style of review Steve from gamers Nexus does with the thorough & comparative data. But this case hasn't hit his desk yet...

Thanks though!

Yeah Dmitri Scrapped the build I believe, he quickly switched out, cant remmebr why. Possibly some limitation he hit trying to get his AIO to fit?

I believe the Shift is on the mITX table for GN, but I'm not 100% sure.

Strike that - I finally found it! It didn't mention anything about the ethoo evolve shift.. which is why it didn't populate initially...

my fears of the issues with the pci extension + riser have subdued, but I am left being worried about thermals... I thought about even getting the EK Fluid gaming a240g, but from the sounds of it, the front panel limits airflow pretty bad.. i wonder if a push/pull set of fans on the rad would help this any...

it looks awesome, but to easy my concerns I may just need to go with my initial pick of the Lian Li pc011 dynamic...

I dont know if push/pull would fit in that case....

I mean for an 8700k and a 1080ti/1180, It's hard to say no to the O11D simply based on how good thermals will be.
