https://www.amazon.co.uk/Palit-GeForce-StormX-Express-Graphics/dp/B01M1S6EQT/ref=mp_s_a_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1531757361&sr=8-10&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=1060+6gb&dpPl=1&dpID=51GS4rQ89cL&ref=plSrch

So I recently upgraded to like a 1050 and it’s slow

so I’m thinking a 1060

tjkng is I don’t want to change everything like

power supply and motherboard JUST A GPU EASY REPLACE 1 thing

so here my specs

i5 4690 NOT THE K VERSION

8GB

500w uh I think it’s EVGA bronze I’m pretty sure

GTX 1050 2GB

YEH

so like forza horizon 3 I can run on low settings at 768p with lag lol

so is 1060 worth it !!!  Can I just swap my 1050 with the 1060 it says a pcie??? At least I think that’s what the 1050 uses righ???

unless u can think of any others

I can’t spend more than like £350 really that’s high as it is

As long as you have a powerful enough PSU with the PCIe power connectors to power the GPU, and enough room in your case, than yes, it should just be an easy straight swap.

Main Rig: cpu: Intel 6600k OC @ 4.5Ghz; gpu: Gigabyte Gaming OC RTX 2080 (OC'd); mb: Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD3; ram: 16 GB (2x8GB) 3000 G.Skill Ripjaws V; psu: EVGA 650BQ; storage: 500GB Samsung 850 evo, 2TB WD Black; case: Cooler Master HAF 912; cooling: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo, Lots of fans, Air!; display: 4k Samsung 42" TV, Asus MX259H 1080p audio: Schiit Audio Magni Amp w/ Audio Technica M50x

Yes, you will have pretty solid performance. The I5 will be a good match for that GPU, if you had an old AMD FX build then the1060 would have bottlenecked it a bit. So that I5(and other Intel chips) will do just fine. :)

If your psu has the required power connector, and you make sure to get a card that physically fits your case, then it is all fine.

The 1060 cards should use 1x 6pin connector, and some maybe 1x8pin.

Yes, it will be fine. But it is strange the low performance you are getting, I do believe you should be able to get WAY higher fps. Check if the gpu is being 100% used, and maybe reinstall drivers.

I used to play witcher 3 in 1440x900 medium settings 60 fps using a 750ti, so I think it is very unnusual for a 1050 to be so trash.

Ultra is stupid. ALWAYS.

Well forza horizon 3 is stupid hard to run apparently and well guess it is

I can’t even run on 0180p I don’t care because my monitor is 1366.768 so I set games to that anyway plus more Fps

but it I can only run forza on that res in low graphics mode even still gets frame drops

unless it’s cpu or ram or vram idk

Forza has problems with quad core CPU's that do not have hyper threading in my experience.  Things like dropped frames and stuttering.

Your GPU should be fine for 768p with the medium preset AFAIK.

You could look for a Xeon E3-1240 V3, E3-1270 V3, or E3-1280 V3 to put in your current set up to get more threads and less stuttering.

1050 Ti gets better FPS than that by far without drops.

Origins... You mean AC:O?  That game eats VRAM for breakfast, 2gb isn't enough.  3gb is borderline.

Also, with 8gb of system ram you should be shutting down pretty much all background tasks when playing either of those games.
