How much wattage do I need for a GTX 980 ti and a i5 8600k while bring overclocked?

600 watt should be enough, but it could be close, though I doubt you overclock like me, so it's probably gonna be fine. I would maybe look for a higher quality PSU though, something from around tier 2 or 3, the BQ 600 watt is tier 4.

different 980ti will have different power limits, what's the model?

 

8600k will use 180w at most, under prime95. Worst case scenario, that is.

 

EVGA BQ series isnt that good though. Look for something with at least 5 years warranty.

efficiency rating means nothing to the internal's quality. 80+ golds are far more common than silver these days anyway

according to tomshardware's test, their 980ti maxed out at 450w draw from PSU, lets say you keep your cpu stock and it uses 95w, you are already pretty close 600 watt mark.

id upgrade the PSU, i think the BQ series were a bit iffy with the protections and i havent heard off that being resolved yet. id get a 600W or a 650W unit, the G2 and G3 EVGA units are great IMO

with a 980TI you might want to look at a 750W unit if you want, not strictly nessecary but the extra buffer might be a nice thing to have in mind if you want to really push overclocks :) 

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...
