Upgrade ram or graphics card

I have a gt 1030 (Gddr5) with 8 GB ram.. I tried to run forza horizon 3 and the game runs likes shit in my rig because it consumes more vram and results in swapping more memory from hdd and causing stuttering... Before it swaps I was able to play at 60 fps 720p low med

So my question is if I upgrade my ram to 16 GB.. Will I shake off the stuttering ?

Or buy new gfx which I can't do at the moment...  ?

Get a new GPU. What is your budget for the upgrade?

Edit: also what are the other system specs?

Edit2: depending on the budget, do you mind buying used?

You need a new GPU. The GT1030 should NEVER really ever be used for any kind of gaming. 8gb of system memory is fine.

Well it is not only the gpu but I have to change psu and CPU as well as I am running g4560 and non branded psu

I was hoping to get if I get one.. A future proof 8 GB ram type gfx like TX 580 or later ... But I don't want to buy gtx 1050ti which is reaching its end very soon... So can't quite go for new Gfx at the moment...

Can't believe the crew 2 runs well but 2016 game forza horizon 3 can't  on gt1030

What is your location and max budget?

On the used market you might be able to get a R9 290x or an GTX 780ti for about 150$

They perform like an 1060 6GB or like the RX 580

That is why asked if upgrading ram would solve the problem for the moment?

Your CPU is not going to benefit from an additional 8GBs of RAM. There isn't much you can do on such a chip that will require that much memory... unless you're the type of person that has 50 tabs open using Chrome. Even if you do get a new GPU, I question your PSU as it may not have the wattage, let alone reliable power delivery for a decent GPU that requires external power.

How are the HD7970? Though not the best performance it is better than what you have now.

It is hard to help without inowing rhough location, currency and Budget

Edit: it is important to note you only need a 450-500watt PSU. Non-modular ones shouldnt be such a stretch. Again, idk what kind of money you have to spend

True ... That is why i have to change psu as well...but forza horizon 3 is unoptimized for 2 gb vram even like gtx 1050 ...cant believe it is still not fixed.

Well i am casual gamer so i dont mind playi g at 720p for decsnt frame rates though

Yes. More ram might help a tiny little bit, but it wont make any noticable difference. It will be a waste of money and budget

670 is power hungry.compared to 1050ti....but price stays at $140-150.

Well i would be playing at 720p low ..you think it will consume that much ram out of 16 gb...

or are you calculating in terms of 1080p?

Because there are complaints that this game is unoptimized for vram usage... From the begining

In terms of everything, but it will be a total waste of money, trust me, it will. Mark my words
