Sorry Mod, is it possible to move this thread to the appropriate forum?  I left it in the wrong place...

I am trying to find a good 240 mm aio to cool my new chip.  Problem is that there are scads of choices in CLC's and for every review you read that says this or that cooler is good, there is another review that says it is bad - pump failure, high noise etc., poor customer service etc.  Does anyone have personal experience with any particular brand/model of CLC for cooling the 8086k/8700k?  I know these chips put out quite a bit of heat, but I also dont want my computer to sound like a helicopter under load.

I am comfortable spending around $150 on such a device.

Thank you!

BTW I have tentatively purchased (it can be returned/exchanged) an EVGA 240 CLC, but the reviews say it is very loud.  Is it stupid to replace the fans on this with noctuas - or just spend that extra money on a better cooler...

Hi guys,

I didn't wanted to create new topic because this is going to be a problem with 8086k cooling.

Well, I bought i7-8086k and I'm using it with Thermaltake Contac Silent 12 CPU cooler and MX-4 TP. Everything seems to be fine idle CPU core temperature is around 33C but there's a problem that hardware monitor detects that one of core is always overheating over 104C. Any idea why this is happening?  Should I be worried about it? Btw I've maybe used thermal compound a little too much. I've used pee method but added 2x of that than youtube is showing.
P.S. Sorry for bad english language.

Then reapply thermal paste. There is such a thing as too much paste...

Also it's much better to make your own thread rather than go and hijack someone else's. It just creates confusion and people will never see your problem

That's an F in the profile pic
