1080Ti Build - looking for recommendations

Pathan

Hello folks,

I'm building a new gaming rig using the parts listed below. Would appreciate any feedback/recommendations from experienced people.

My objective is to be able to game at 2.5K resolution with higher than 100fps. Not looking for a 4K + high refresh rate setup as the PG27UQ (when it does come out in my country) will be ridiculously expensive.

Would also like to have the opportunity to overlock later down the line, with the potential of adding another GPU.

Here's the list i've come up with so far. Once again, appreciate any feedback as i'm not very good at compiling good builds. The prices are a little steep in my country - Dubai, UAE. I've checked the possibility of shipping from the US/Canada but the customs + shipping makes it more expensive than buying locally.

Once again, appreciate your input on the spec list above.

Thank you.

You dont really need RAM with that high clockspeed. AMD benefits a lot from it but not Intel so you can cheap out on that with a 2400 or 2666 RAM Kit

You can slow the ram down to 2400MHz - 2666MHz, although 3000MHz is the sweet spot, but the performance increase is tiny and doesn't justify the price increase.

Also, the PSU is overpriced and you don't need it. Settle for a SuperNova 550W or CX550M.

If you are dead set on a 3200MHX RAM Kit I highly suggest going with one of the available CL 14-14-14-34 kits as those are guaranteed Samsung B-Die which tends to perform a little bit better and overlock higher with tighter timings than kits that use either Hynix or Micron Dies.

If you do eventually add the second 1080TI you'll be glad of the 860W Platinum power supply, and even with your build as is if you OC from the start you'll likely under full load be reaching a high enough system draw to enter into the peak efficiency area PSUs tend to have in the roughly 45% to 75% range or so.

Rawr.
