4k RGB Gaming Machine

Skipple

Hi all. I put together this list for a new build. I will be buying all parts in the next few days.

Looking for any and all criticisms and critiques.

Trying to build a future proof gaming rig. 4k / 60 FPS on AAA Games for the next few years. Possibly dabble in streaming down the line, but this is unlikely.

I was looking to do a build with some decent RGB. But didn't want to sacrifice performance. Looking for suggestions for RGB strips as well.

I won't be overclocking right away, but want to get ready incase CPU becomes bottleneck down the line.

Budget is $1700 max. Looking to get this price down in possible.

I will be buying ASAP. USA

I was looking at the Kraken x62, but it would put me over my budget. Not sure what else I could bring down to get to my price point. I am not planning on overclocking right away, so I figured a few years down the line I could could upgrade the cooler to get overclocking performance if/when I needed it.

meh. if you'd bothered to look, that ssd is cheaper than the MX500 and 860 evo.

I... did not. it's 2x instead of the more common 4x these days, but it is a crap load cheaper than the 4x and is still twice as fast as SATA SSD's. shit on me...

What's your recommendation for M.2 then?

Well to be honest, i was going to highly recommend a standard SATA m.2 from just about anyone considering how 4x NVMe storage is twice the price of their SATA cousins, which is usually my contention with recommending NVMe over SATA (in either 2.5" FF or NGFF)... but that PCIex2 ADATA NMVe drive Herman suggested is REALLY compelling. It's the same price as a MX500 (a really solid drive mind you) but double the throughput, and [maybe?] IOPS. It's the clear choice for NGFF in the 512GB and under category.
