i5 bottlenecking 1170 ti

Bergami

Sup?

I got a 1070 Ti from a very good price, but I have an i5 6400 with H110 chipset that is bottlenecking really hard my vga.

Most games I play at 2k or 4k, are no trouble for my card, but my cpu is mostly at 100% all the time and I can see most graphical options that are cpu bond sucking even more frames.

Which brand new cpu should I switch to in order to ease this blottlenecking? I´d like to pair it with a cheap mobo.

i5 8400 or r5 2600, other price/performance option?

mabye a i7-6700/i7-7700 k or non k so you dont have to buy new mobo, a i5-8400 has better performance for gaming tho you should get a i5-8600k for the OC

You can’t really go wrong with both but since I’m a fanboy of intel I’d go intel.

Strange, it shouldn't be at 100% while playing at 4k. Just upgrade to a 6700 or 7700 so you don't need to to move to a new motherboard and cpu

Ryzen is going to be a better value overall, but what's your budget/country?

About 4k I thought (as everybody says) cpu was no issue, but it has been. Even at 4k my cpu runs at 100%, must be the low 2.7 @ 3.1 boost that cant handle a 1070 Ti.

I dont want a K processor since I dont want to pay for a Z chipset.

i7 (even old gen) is overpriced in my country, cant afford them.

My budget would be about $ 200 for cpu and about 75 mobo.

And the DDR4? This motherboard might need a bios updated to run the R5 2600

if you're just gaming, then look for an i5 8400 and H310 board.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

Surely an i7 6700 / 7700 non-K would be cheaper than getting an i5 8400 plus new mobo?

CPU - Core i7 4770 RAM - 16GB DDR3 1600MHz GPU - XFX RX 470 4GB

SSD - 1TB TCSUNBOW X3 PSU - 500W Aerocool Integrator

At retail maybe.  Used I'm seeing them around $200, but that may vary based on location.  Going used on a non-k cpu is pretty safe.

Aaaanyway, if you're going to stick to your new board/cpu plan, both chips are good.  I think the i5 will play a little better with the RAM you have if you choose to carry over, and it's a tad better for gaming.

Sadly in my country the used market is too weak to strife for.

I got the 8400 and a B360 for R$ 1500.

My old kit should worth R$ 700-900.

In this upgrade I am going to invest about R$ 600 (U$ 150)
