Can all of the fluid in H100 evaporate over 4-5 years?

I think I had H100 for about 4-5 years now and think that all of most of the fluid in it has evaporated. Why? Well because yesterday, after buying 144Hz monitor (finally yes!!!) and running planetside 2, I noticed that game was reporting cpu performance issue. Mind you planetside 2 ran fine on this system before and always complained about my previous GPU (which ever it was, cant remember). So I install CPU temperature monitor and WOW!!! 97-100 degrees Celsius with 10-12 load. Radiator is cool and but pump block itself is hot.

Maybe the pump itself is dead. Can you hear it buzzing?

People quoting posts with all the pictures should get banned from internet!

welcome to the Linus Tech Tips forums!

there is some permeation, but not a complete disbursement.

either the pump has an air bubble in the pump it can not shake, or the pump is/has failed.

So after posting I decided to take H100 out and quickly take pump apart and see whats up.

First of all, yes, pump does still work and spin without a hick up. When refilling I would run it continuously for about 30 seconds until fluid needed to be replenished.

Second, it seems like there was maybe 1/3 of fluid left inside.

Finally, I think because of low fluid level there is gunk in radiator, because there was quite a lot in the pump.

Luckily I am going to a wedding which happens to be very close to Frys Electronics so going to get regular air cooler I guess. H100 served well for many years I had it.

I will take pump and radiator apart again soon and post pictures if I don't forget.

Edit:

Ohh yeah, so after refilling all of the fluid I poured out plus just as much on top of that, CPU runs just as hot and pump block is also hot. I hoped that thermal sensor went out but that is not the case.

I have never heard of fluid evaporating in an AIO (where would the fluid go in a closed loop??), but what I will say is that just recently, I discovered that my mediocre to bad temperatures with my H100i were do to a SUPER NOT OBVIOUS installation error: the backplate (that goes on the back of the motherboard) was oriented the wrong way. The only indication that there even is a specific orientation was a single picture in the instructions, but sure enough, fixing the backplate resolved my temperature issues.

Here is a reddit article about it.
