MSI stealth SG60 upgrade ?

Hi all,

I currently have a MSI SG60 stealth laptop from a couple of years ago. For the longest time this has done me really well and I have been very pleased with it but recently I have bought a proper desktop pc. Now that I have a desktop I am thinking of changing up my laptop which is a 17" laptop that weighs a ton and is quite cumbersome. I was looking at something comparable in specs to my current laptop, something in the 15 inch range with a 1050 and an i5 just to play overwatch and do a bit of intensive coding for uni and work. What I found interesting is that computers like this can be up to £1200, the same cost I paid for my original laptop. I am surprised that the price for performance has not decreased over the years. If anyone has any suggestions for a good laptop to exchange for my current one or answers as to why there hasn't really been a price drop for this performance, please can you let me know? P.S. I was looking at the MSI Ghost along time ago but that seems to have disappeared and was about the same price as the stealth at the time.

MSi Ghost looks Outdated.

Also, Your £1200 budget gives you alot of room to get a laptop with better specs then an i5 / 1050, Would you want the i7 8th gen chip with a / 1060 / 1060 MQ, Or even the 1050ti

Hi Kiara,

It don't need the battery life to be long and it needs to be light enough and 15" to walk with for an hour a day potentially, I am not looking to buy another £1200 laptop more like something of equivalent value to my current laptops today value, I really don't want an upgrade in performance more like just a decrease in size. which is why i think its made that equivalent performance is still at about £1200. :D

I asked this because some ppl think that 3kg isn't super heavy while some said that 2kg is heavy

I would say under 2kg would be good preferable.

I would say TongFang GK5CN5Z/6Z. Good build quality and cooling, good specs (up to 8750H+1060), optional 144Hz panel. You can buy it from PCSpecialist:
