What do developer mean by recommanded hardware for gaming.

Ghayal Dhruv

I know for some games it is the hardware through which one can play games on Ultra but not in case of every game, I am struggling with WD_2 though I have RX580 and Ryzen 1400.

System requirements to play the game smoothly.

If you don't meet the minimum sys requirements, expect to have issues at the recommended (typically default) settings.

Turn the GFX settings in the game down to minimum, then play. If it plays fine, then slowly adjust upward until you find the balance between playability and eye candy.

Also, ensure your drivers are updated.

Struggling how? At 1080p it should run well at high detail settings. It's not a brilliantly optimized game, so never expect smooth 60fps.

there's no general testing standards. They could mean 'console quality', so minimum settings and 30fps.

I don't know that feel with my 2700X and 1070ti :P that said, I have ascended to the 1440p club since wednesday so my framerates have gone down a bit. Not by much, though :) I was able to mostly maintain 130-140fps in Pubg at high settings @ 1080 with occasional drops to 80-90 fps which was decent.

Recommend hardware normally means you get a very smooth and detailed playing experience.

Recommended - 1080P @ 60FPS

Minimum - 720P @ 25FPS.

hi.

This is probably the best explanation.

When a developer is designing a game, if they do it “the right way” they’re supposed to target specific hardware & standards. (Something unity and Unreal don’t really have you do.)

if you find development videos for “planet x2” or “planet x3” you’ll learn a bit more on how a developer is supposed to target their game to specific platforms.

Jayztwocents made a video on minimum requirements for PUBG, and one comparing minimum VS recommended. Do note that PUBG is not the most optimized game.

While LTT made a TechQuickie on the topic.

If you are willing to drop some quality settings and are fine with 50+ fps, you are going to be much happier than those who seek for ultra and 200+ fps. Saying from experience. I've never had system that could run AAA games at highest detail with over 80fps. Current GPU might give me something, I'll see once BF5 comes, but I doubt it. 50-70fps on BF4 with medium-mixed (some low, some high) with 560Ti and I had great time playing.
