Budget Gaming Laptop Head to Head

So I've been looking into 'budget gaming laptops' lately, something that I will be able to use as a work machine half time, and while on the road load up games in my down time like Overwatch, Fortnite, maybe something as demanding as Battlefield 5 when that comes out. I've come across these 2 laptops so far that I really like. Shooting for around the $1000 mark on price (give or take tax)

The Acer Nitro 5 (from Linus's latest video) and the Dell G7 Gaming laptop.

With Linus's latest video saying pretty nice things about the Acer Nitro 5 what do you guys think about either of these laptops? probably a decent buy either way? Is there a 3rd or 4th even better one out there?

I was just looking up the Acer Nitro 5 and the Dell Inspiron 5000 was suggested to me as the specs are pretty much identical. I would like to see a shoot-out between those two as the price in the UK here at the moment is the same between the two (from Currys at least).

are you afraid of dell outlet?
-I got a year ago a 7567 128ssd 1tb hdd 16gb ram 1050ti ips for 800 including tax. (scratch and dent, but never saw either of those two) I bet now you can do something similar with a 7577 (gtx 1060), mind you, you may want to wait until cupons are avaliable and use Honey app for extra saving on time with coupon hunting and some money back if you are lucky.

I can't vouch for the Dell, but as a Nitro 5 owner with the i5-8300h, I can vouch that it runs a bit toasty when gaming.  The CPU and GPU share a set of heat pipes, with the CPU being furthest away from the dual fans used to cool them.  I do thermal throttle when gaming, although not as bad since removing the factory thermal paste and applying my own.
