also in safe mode it locks my cpu to default clock speeds (3.60 ghz) while in normal windows 10 it runs at 4.1 ghz. I haven’t overclocked it but I asked on this forum somewhere else and people said it was normal

That will be the Turbo Boost feature of your CPU. It will overclock itself to give it a boost to help performance. As others have mentioned, it's perfectly normal for your CPU.

I’ll try another psu

You have another one available to test with? (Don't use the Thermaltake from the other machine you think is faulty).
A known good PSU will be the best way for ruling out (or confirming) the PSU as the issue.

CPU: Intel i7 6700k  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 | RAM: 2x16GB 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX | GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080ti | PSU: Corsair RM750x (2018) | Case: BeQuiet SilentBase 800 | Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports | SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB + Samsung 840 500GB + Crucial MX500 2TB | Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU + Samsung BX2450

That thermaltake will not work. For a day it smelt like smoke

it’s really ironic that I borrowed a Corsair cx650m from another family member who got it today (they live in my house) ikr this is so ironic

I passed the 30 minute mark in safe mode here but now i’m Going to plug in this other psu and game and see if it shuts down *insert facepalm*

and yes I know, this is some BS luck here

Turned on the switch at the back of the PSU unit? The lights can come on for a second and then go off if there's some residual power still left in the motherboard from when it was last turned on (should only happen once though then it will be drained)

Just double check all connectors are plugged in firmly, including the Motherboard 24pin, CPU 4/8pin, the GPU power, and the SATA power for HDDs/SSDs.

Is the system is booting with the CX650M?

No, but that’s was ether I did not plug the pin connectors properly or the plug on the AC power board was loose.

10 minuets into playing tf2 and no reboot yet

Just to clarify, is this running with the CX750M or the CX650M?

Do you have any games more intensive than TF2 to test with? Something that could put a heavier load on the system. If not, there are free benchmarks like Furmark, Cinebench, 3dmark TimeSpy, etc that you can download to put some stress in to the system.

Is it normal for it to use %50 of my cpu?

It's a GPU stress test, but it will still need CPU resources as well.
That'll be a good test actually if it's stressing both.
Let it run for 10-20min and see if it shuts down.

Was that the problem with the CX750M? If so that may be what was causing the random shutdowns if it was a loose cable.

I don’t know, loose cable in system? Not sure

if it is fixed, then I thank you for all of your help.

25 minutes on furmark and no crash yet :)

Sounds good. Might have just been the loose cable then.
Hopefully it's fixed. If it strikes again then just pop back here and let us know and we will look at some other troubleshooting tips for you.

It seems to some protection is fault in PSU and it "thinks" that something is wrong, so turn off your computer.

It doesn't matter that Corsair is good PSU brand (of course depends, because I've read lot of bad reviews too), you may have just bad luck.
