Inno3D iChill 1070 ti shows black screen

Ok.. I put the new card in, didn't work. I put the old card in, it worked. I put the new card back in, it worked.

I have no clue what I did, but it fixed it..

SHORT VERSION:

I replaced my MSI GTX 770 Lightning with an Inno3D iChill GeForce GTX 1070 Ti X3 v2. It only gives a black screen as output.

Introduction + more detailed problem:

After 4 years of service I noticed my GPU couldn't handle all games properly anymore. For that reason I replaced my MSI GTX 770 Lightning Edition with a new GPU, which is an Inno3D iChill GeForce GTX 1070 Ti X3 v2.

I received it today. I shut down the pc, unplugged it from the wall, unplugged the 2 8-pin connectors, took out the 770, put the 1070 Ti in, plugged one of the 8-pin connectors back in, plugged the pc into the wall and turned it on.

The result: One of my monitors starts out with the message "no signal", and after a few seconds when my mouse and keyboard receive power it gets a signal as well, but it only shows a black screen.

I've tried:

-Using the other 8-pin connector (they're connected to eachother, so it shouldn't matter)

-Plugging the card into another pci-e slot (the top one, which was causing artifacts with my 770)

-Swapping the 1070 Ti for my old 770 to see if everything is still working (which it is)

-Checking for driver updates. Latest were already installed.

Things to note:

-I'm using 2 monitors, both with DVI-D (they're 1080p and have a VGA, DVI-D, and HDMI input)

-The logo on the Inno3D 1070 Ti is breathing in red, instead of showing the temperature-colour

-After plugging in my old 770 one monitor wasn't detected at first. Once I launched GeForce Experience it got detected instantly (which I thought was odd behaviour)
