[Solved] HELP! 2.2 GHz lock Ryzen 5 1600x

Go to solution Solved by Salacious B Crum,

I had a lot of problems with AIsuite I would get rid of that and start fresh and clear the cmos and do all adjustments in the bios that's how I got mine working and it was definitely AIsuite that caused it.

Specs:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600x

GPU: Asus dual fan (White) GTX 1060 3GB

MB:   Asus Prime B350 Plus

RAM: Crucial Ballistix (16GB, 2x8) 2666 MHz

PS:   Coolermaster Masterwatt Lite 500 (+White rating)

My Ryzen 5 1600x has locked at 2.2 GHz and i can not overclock it! I have tried Amd Ryzen Master, BIOS and AI Suite from Asus. I have also updated Windows 10 to 1803 and the BIOS to the newest version.

Acording to EZ update, all my drivers are up to date. I noticed that my ram is underclocked aswell, at 1,333 MHz. My ram is Crucial Ballistix 2x8 2666MHz

So what happens when you put 100% load on the CPU? Does the clock speed increase? This might just be cool 'n quiet doing its job when the chip is idle.

And 1333 is actually correct in terms of RAM speed. It's DDR memory so you have to double the memory clock speed to get the effective speed.

If the CPU isn't fully under load, it wont go to its normal clock speed. It will stay at 2.2 until it goes under load. Run a benchmark like Cinebench and report back.

Uninstall AISuite.

Restart

Check.

I myself have had issues with this software..... as have others.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Cool yeah don't know why that happens but it seems once you fiddle with AIsuite even if you decide to not use it it will remain contant and prevent other procedures from the bios from taking affect, as a rule I always suggest staying away from software that changes bios type settings they just seem wonky and I did have the same types of issues with my MSI command center software too
