I got a good overclock but I dont want it

I got a laptop with the 17-4510U witch has a base clock of 2GHz but mine is clocked to around 3GHz!

If I had a PC I would be very happy to have this overclock but i have a laptop, and laptops dont fare well with an overclocked cpu.

My highest recorded temperature is 93c!

 

Im getting a PC soon tho, I just hope my laptop servives untill then...

im not sure how to do it, i bought it with this clock

also its a realy bad cpu so i need this clock

Thats turbo boost, its normal and fully stock. There is no overclock

 

93c is fine and won't hurt the chip at all. Laptops are designed for those temps.

 

 

You can limit clock speed in power options, but it will be a good amount slower.

Yeah not sure what i was thinking, of course its a boost speed, i wouldnt worry about it. The way you wrote your comment sounded like you bought intentionally set to 3Ghz

undervolt it first, I recommend XTU.

im on it now, and im kinda worried because TJ mak is 100c.

and i got the 93c while the cpu was in 2.85GHz

That's Turbo Boost (entirely normal) and if you're worried about the temparatures (don't be - it's below TJ-max and therefore fine) get Intel Extreme Tuning Utility and lower the voltage till it gets unstable
