Mini ITX build for 1080p gaming

Hey Folks,

I'm building a new mini-ITX PC for myself, but I'm stuck at the some points. Specs are:

Case:

Raijintek Metis Classic

MOBO:
Gigabyte GA-AB350N-GAMING WIFI

CPU:
AMD Ryzen 5 1600X

GPU:
Zotac GTX1060 6GB GDDR5 Mini ZT

RAM:

G.Skill Fortis 2x8GB DDR4 2400MHz

SSD:

Samsung 500GB 860 EVO

Cooling:

ID-Cooling AURAFLOW 120 SNOW

PSU:

Cooler Master 550W MasterWatt

Monitor:

AOC G2260VWQ6 21,5"

My questions are:

  • Will this all fit into the case?

  • General opinion about the build

  • Is the Auraflow overkill for the CPU? I was wondering that the airflow would be pretty shi*t, so it would be helpful.

  • Is the monitor decent in terms of image/speaker. I have very limited space, so I would avoid buying any external speaker if possible.

Appreciate if you help!

Unless you NEED an ITX system, I would recommend going against it. ITX motherboards don't give you too many upgrade options and most ITX cases don't have great airflow and expandability options.

To be honest, I quite much need an ITX build... I have very limited space on the kitchen desk to put the PC on, and no other place to put it. On upgrades, I usually upgrade my system every 5-6 years only, and then I buy a whole new setup. For now the point is to be able to game in 1080p at decent settings/FPS for a few years. Airflow could be an issue, but that's a risk I'm willing to take, that's why the water cooler in the build.

I'm currently running both the AB350N and a 1600x w/ a 1060 as well.

Compatibility:

  • The GPU (Zotac 1060 mini) is 4 mm too long for the case's advertised length (174mm compared to 170) You may be able to squeeze it, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Here are some of my thoughts and tips:

  • The Metis Classic has a volume of 13.4 liters but is restricted to a GPU length of 170mm; however, the SG13B has a max GPU length of 266mm ( ~210 with a radiator) - plenty for your card.
  • I'd recommend going with one 16GB stick of RAM instead of 2x8GB - allowing for further upgrading in the future. mITX motherboards only have two RAM slots
  • A 120mm radiator with a 1600x is fine  - in SFF, you can't use a tower cooler (which would be a better value), so a 120mm replacement makes sense.
  • I'd recommend going with a smaller SSD (256GB?) and adding a 1 TB hard drive in addition to it, but this is just a personal preference.
  • I highly recommend using PCPartsPicker. It'll let you check for compatibilities, prices (for your region), and provides various other information. Here's your current setup ported into their PC Builder (Link Here).
