Streaming/recording impacting frame rate and drop

I'm looking to stream w/ my i7 6700k, 1070ti setup but I'm experiencing massive frame drops in overwatch/fortnite at 144hz with moderate settings. I only have 8gb of RAM, so I'm assuming that's whats bottlenecking me, BUT the catch is that I tried installing a 500gb ssd and my 600W power supply (wasn't thinking ahead at time of purchase) couldn't even handle that.

I know RAM additions don't take much wattage, so I'm looking for recommendations as to where to go from here? Currently my plan is to pick up a 1000W power supply and rewire the whole thing WITH my new SSD, as well as getting another 8gb or 16gb of RAM, and move my games and OS over to the SSD.

Figured I'd get some extra opinions so I don't waste more money!

Any help or recommendations greatly appreciated!

What psu do you have?

All your components together use about 250-300 watts, so unless you have a nobrand firestarter your psu is more than enough.

What do you mean that the power supply couldnt handle the ssd?

Did you connect all the cables correctly?

Also look at cpu and ram usage while streaming. If you use cpu encoding for streaming then your cpu could be also bottlenecking you with its 4 cores.

I assumed it was a power supply issue, I believe all the wires were correct as I had the SSD installed as secondary storage initially (pc recognised it), and soon after i launched chrome and overwatch my pc turned off, not certain what caused it tbh.

with recording and streaming the ram bottlenecks almost instantly before I've seen substantial CPU usage, so it sounds like I should start with the ram upgrade, check my usage while streaming and go from there.
