Full build for OC i7-2700k - Please comment

Hi as some will have seen I have been looking for advice on rehoming my i7-2700k into a overclockable mobo and basicly spritzing it all up.

After the advice ive been given ive put together the following.  Id be grateful if you could look over this list and let me know if there are any issues with it, not enough power, the cooling wont be enough etc.

Many thanks

CPU: Intel - Core i7-2700K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master - Hyper 212 LED Turbo (Red) 66.3 CFM CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Gigabyte - GA-Z77-D3H ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair - Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: Samsung - 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Storage: Seagate - Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: KFA2 - GeForce GTX 1070 8GB EX Video Card
Case: Phanteks - Enthoo Pro M ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: EVGA - SuperNOVA G2 550W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular
1 x Case Fan: Corsair - SP140 49.5 CFM  140mm Fan  Rear
2 x Case Fan: Corsair - SP140 49.5 CFM  140mm Fan  Front

With Windows 10 64bit.

Thanks again for looking, i appreciate it.

I like it, but I feel like a 1070 would be a bit on the overkill side for a CPU of this caliber, but other than that it looks solid. If you're going for a high overclock I'd recommend a bit more of a beefy CPU cooler.

Also, if you don;t already have most of this dude to the unique way the used market is working right now it is honestly better value to go with new parts.

Should do ok, maybe a better cooler and i would change the case fans to AF140's  the SP is for static pressure whereas the AF is for airflow.

A Be Quiet! Dark Rock or a Cryorig H5 will be solid choices. The 1070 might be kept back by the 2700K. A 4790K will be a better choice. If you don't want to spend the cash, an i5 8400 should be the next upgrade.

I have the 2700k allready, was holding of a full upgrade till later, do you not think the cooler i listed will be good enough either?

What have i missed?

the ram, cpu and hdd/sdd are from my previous build, its only the mobo i bought, and it was £60.00

I dont know how high im planning to oc, i was thinking 4.0ghz to start with, as ive never done it before.

Seems solid then, but I'd get some better cooling.

Should be fine, you won't be able to push the OC very far, but the 2700k is an older processor, so it really isn't worth the money for a better cooler anyways.

That cooler limited my 2600k overclock to 4.2GHz, under 1.25V (software reading) or 1.32V (DMM reading) as my system refuse to be stable with lower voltages

Havent heard of motherboards blowing up when overclocking Sandy Bridge quad cores yet, but I am worried of the VRMs of this motherboard. You see, cheap Z68/Z77 boards like this are for non-K CPUs because using Z chipset allows them to get a 400MHz overclock. They are not meant for heavy overclocking. Mine isnt all that good either, but I couldnt find one that's better and cheap enough to justify the spending.

Graphics card is a bit loud, as cheaper models of any GPU always are (unless they are fanless).

PSU will again be loud when the fans spin up. That's the only glaring issue of the G2 lineup.

Corsair SP120 perform well as intake fans because of their high static pressure and decent amount of airflow. What does suck is the noise level, it literally shouts.

SP's  49.5 CFM

AF's  66.4 CFM

I have this cooler on my system in the family room,  2500k/970   Pretty quiet and works well.

Not at all.

How loud are we talking?

Not silent but 6 heat pipes and twin tower gives great surface area resulting in the fans not needing to ramp up to very high rpm so no whine etc.

The 212 will suffice. If you already have the 2700K, keep it.
